Fujifilm X70, Ultimate Travel Kit

As of this writing I leave in four weeks for a nine day trip to Peru with my son. As of today my most important planning and packing is done, namely the photo gear I take along.

Fujifilm X70 Travel Nexus Domke F-803

For this trip I've considered so many Fuji-fantastic combinations, narrowing my choice of body and lenses to the X-T1, with the 14mm, and 18-55mm lenses. But I always came back to the same problem of long days walking and carrying a bag of (albiet minimal) gear and stopping to change lenses. All things that would interfere with simply enjoying the time with my son and seeing and experiencing cool things.

Then the X70 happened, and now I have a compact camera capable of the same image quality of my larger X-T1. For the past few weeks I've been kitting out the X70 and trying to build the ultimate travel kit:
  • Fujifilm X70
  • 3rd party X100 adapter and hood
  • External battery charger and four batteries
  • External USB charger
  • Ultrapod II mini tripod
  • Filter case with 49 to 52 step up adapter, circular polarizer, R72 filter, and two ND8 filters
  • Nexus 7 tablet with Fuji Remote, Google Photos, Snapseed, Kindle App, Google Maps, etc.
  • Tactical zooming flashlight
  • USB cable with OTG adapter for direct X70 to Nexus 7 transfers
  • Domke F-803 Satchel with Post Office Shoulder Pad.
Add to the bag a passport, itinerary, water bottle, ibuprofen, sunscreen, etc. and we are ready for Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu, and Lake Titicaca.
