Fujifilm X-E1 Rediscovered

Ever since I bought the X-T1, my Fujifilm X-E1 has lived in exile in a bag in the closet. But that was then and this is now and the X-E1 is back in use for two reasons:

  1. I bought a larger messenger to use for work (Timbuk2 Alchemist) which not only holds my work stuff, but can also accommodate the X-E1 with 27mm pancake lens. It is comforting to have a quality camera on hand throughout the day.
  2. I found a $3 lens hood in a box of miscellaneous stuff that fits the 27mm pancake lens making the X-E1 + grip + 27mm + hood combination look and feel really, really, retro cool.
X-E1 + Grip + 27mm + Hood = Retro Cool

So, why did I stop using the X-E1 in the first place? For the same gear-y dreamy dream reason I am eyeing the upcoming XPro2. I am insane. These are the same dreamy dreams that made me put aside a perfectly good X-E1 for the X-T1...and before that the Olympus E-M5 for the X-E1, and before that the Panasonic GX1 for the EM-5, and before that the Panasonic GF1 for the GX1, and before that the Nikon D80 for the GX1, and so on all the way back to my first camera, a Pentax SuperProgram which I put aside for something newer (but I kept, and still have, the Pentax).

The X-E1 is back! Here are some pics of the Brayton Point Power Station in Somerset, Massachusetts I took with the very capable, very cool, X-E1:
